I have been doing Weight Watchers Online since Oliver was about 6 weeks old and it's a great way for nursing mothers to diet. It lets you choose the foods you want to eat and they give you more food for breastfeeding.

Good luck!
I want to start working on loosing weight this year too. I know I'll be starting slowly since having a newbie means I don't have much time for exercise or thinking ahead about eating at the moment. I like your idea of avoiding really processed carbs. The low carb thing really works for me, but I don't think it's realistic, especially while I'm breastfeeding.

You should definitely join the Y. Lunchtime is my favourite time to work out; you don't have to get up early and you don't miss family time when you get home.

Xander is intellegent, but also stubborn. Boys are harder to train, but eventually he will get it. Your friends mentioned some good strategies already.

As far as preschool goes... do not rush into higher education for a three year old... lol. I was eager to get my kids into preschool for playmates. Your kids already have that in their day care. Dave is a pretty intelligent guy and he was raised in downriver schools. There are always learning opportunities for kids. Don't get yourself into the "I must keep up with the Joneses" mode by comparing your childs intellegence. Xander is quite perfect as he is and you and Dave have all he needs to assist him to grow into a strongly educated and loving individual. Don't stress yourself.

I was going to mention exactly the same sort of thing as Stephanie. If it's not an adult bringing it up every time, then he might not fight so hard. Also, keep going with the incrementally earned rewards (like the dinosaur he got recently). He's big enough and smart enough to use that and it keeps the process in his mind longer than an immediate reward.

I hesitate to add this last idea, but what if there was some "reason" that you didn't change him straight away? Sitting in wet pants for a while reinforces the natural consequence of his actions. I wouldn't set it up as a punishment, or as something that would happen to him in public, but just an "Oh well, I can't do anything about that right now".

Harmony, we used a Huggies Potty Time watch which I was reluctant to buy (it came with a pack of diapers but seemed so gimmicky) but in the end, it totally did the trick. It went off at whatever interval we set (we started with 30 min, then 45, then 1 hour) and we told Aaron he had to try and use the potty whenever it went off. There was some grumbling, and we eventually added a single M&M as a reward for trying (each time), but eventually it all worked out and Aaron is nearly accident-free during the day. It didn't hurt that the watch is Lightning McQueen. Email me your address and I'll send it to you because we're done with it and I'd love to see it go to good use!

Hey there,
I was wondering if the little glowing dot in the center of the fetus was the heart? I'm not sure if I see something strange or not, but I do see something that looks similar to what I saw in my ultrasound today. I go back in next week for a better look. I'm just curious what was going on in this picture.
Thanks. Jayna
